Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in pediatric behavioral health experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, MANDT or CPI certification required Must-Have: 2 years of experience in pediatric psychiatric nursing Experience with 1:12 patient ratios Trauma-Informed Care Training and Zero Suicide Training Description: This position involves working in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting for children and adolescents. Candidates will be expected to manage a patient load of 8-12 patients while ensuring safe medication administration. The role includes providing direct care, monitoring patient behavior, and assisting with crisis intervention when necessary. Strong skills in de-escalation techniques and behavior management are essential. Experience with a variety of pediatric psychiatric diagnoses is preferred, including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders. Knowledge of legal aspects related to patient seclusion and involuntary commitment is required. The facility is committed to providing a safe and effective treatment environment for all patients. All staff are expected to support interdisciplinary teamwork and collaborate to achieve positive patient outcomes. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to trauma-informed care principles. Experience working in various treatment settings such as inpatient, outpatient, and residential/ group home environments is beneficial. Exemplary communication skills are necessary for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
