A documentary film by Dana Holyfield, the grand-daughter to Harlan Ford, who was first to report a sighting of this legendary swamp creature, and was known worldwide because the monster hunter.
Holyfield ventured deep into the Honey Island Swamp, to look for brand spanking new evidence of this legendary creature. She confronted several eye-witnesses, who live in the swamp, who were reluctant to speak about their encounter. She also located Mr. Mills, who was with Ford on the hunting trip, once they came nose to nose with the swamp monster. Mills tells of their encounter for the first time on video. Ford’s wife donated an 8mm film reel that she present in his belongings, after he passed away in 1980. The reel was labeled, “Honey Island Swamp Monster.” Ford filmed a big, hairy, bipedal creature, walking upright, through the dense foliage. See Ford’s footage uncut in this documentary film.
This documentary film was filmed with no studio, and with no budget. It doesn’t have computer graphics, or reenactments. It was produced solely by Dana Holyfield, who also filmed it, and edited the footage. These scenes were captured when the chance came up, sometimes spur of the moment when she stumbled on an expectant eye-witness. So don’t expect fancy lighting and great sound. But this film has received good reviews from film critics, and viewers, who enjoyed learning about this legend.
